Best Anime to Watch in 2022
By the looks of it, 2022 is going to be the golden year for
us weebs. There are some GOATed anime ongoing for the season and some are yet
to come and we are excited for each one. Not to mention Studio Mappa just keeps
winning in terms of picking the best badass manga for anime adaptation and the
animation itself, like last year we saw in Jujutsu Kaisen. We can’t help but
overcome by the hype of the shows that are hitting the screens in 2022. So
let’s take a look at the big names that this year is coming packed with making
hype and excitement run wild all over the place with ten anime that will be
carrying 2022.
10/10
MADE IN ABYSS SEASON 2
After its first season was released in 2017, this anime
series based on the manga by the same name became a cult favourite among anime
fans. The fans have been anticipating
the second season of the show ever since the movie was released as the sequel
to the story. The story is set in a strange land known as the "Abyss"
in which a series of deep pits runs below the surface. They’re relatively
undiscovered but brave explorers known as “Cave Raiders” explore them in hopes
of finding strange artefacts. We do not know when the anime will be released
this year, but we do know that the second season will debut in 2022, based on
the official trailer that has been released.

BLUE LOCK
I personally bring up the Blue Lock manga the moment I hear
someone is a sports/shounen genre fan because it is that captivating. Luckily
we got the trailer for the anime and even more luckily, it looks badass with
stunning visuals. It is said to be released sometime in 2022. Now, Blue Lock is
a manga that is different from your regular sports manga/anime, like Haikyuu!!,
Hajime no Ippo, Kuroko no Basket, where there’s this cheesy concept of
friendship and feelings overpowering most aspects. In Blue Lock, there’s just
nothing like it. What if there’s a sports manga that threw friendship out of
the window and followed the most egotistical, pride-driven and independently
headstrong players as they compete with each other to get to the top of the
soccer world? And that’s exactly what Blue Lock is all about. If you haven’t
checked the manga or the trailer out yet, what are you even waiting for? This
is your sign.

JOJO’S BIZARRE ADVENTURE PART 6 : STONE OCEAN
We’re finally getting some more JoJo. Claimed by many to be
the best in the entire series, Stone Ocean takes a different approach to the
universe and we can’t help but love it to pieces. It stars another brand new
JoJo as its protagonist, Jolyne Cujoh. This part feels a bit more modernized
since it’s set in 2011, when Jolyne Cujoh is a prisoner at Green Dolphin
Prison, wrongly imprisoned and seeking justice. Though it is hard to do when
just about every part of the system is turned against you. We’re also gonna see
some family bonding with her father Jotaro Cujoh. We’re predicting the release
in April, however it is not officially announced yet.

VINLAND SAGA SEASON 2
The perfect Viking anime is coming back this year just where
the 2019 hit left off. Looking back at it, they ended it in such a dramatic
fashion that it was hard not to be on the look out for season 2. Let’s see
where the journey would take Thorfinn this time since there’s a lot for the boy
to do before he can find the inner peace, peace he lost that day he saw his
father for the last time. The poster already looks good and with an adult
Thorfinn on his way to amaze us, this season is going to be a good one. I’m
looking forward to how Canute matures and grows later on in the series since
the way things ended up last season, it’s no wonder that he became the face
people would super look forward to. Vinland Saga season 2 is set to release in
July 2022.
6/10
OVERLORD SEASON 4
So we’re getting Overlord Season 4 this year. Previously in
the middle of 2021, the announcement came about a movie in season 4 and after
that a key visual was released along with the trailer. I personally think it
should come in the summer anime season of 2022 because the rest of the popular
and well known anime this year are coming in October. There aren’t much
information out there but we can predict it will cover the Holy Kingdom Arc of
the light novel volumes.
5/10
BUNGOU STRAY DOGS SEASON 4
The Bungou Stray Dogs manga series which exceeded 6 million
copies in circulation according to data, is as popular as its anime worldwide. Given
Atsushi and Akutagawa’s rematch we were hoping the stray dogs would claw their
way to another season and now they are here. The fourth season of the Bungou
Stray Dogs anime has been announced on November 8th 2021 and we
predict the release to be later this year.
4/10
SPY X FAMILY
This massively popular manga series launched in 2019 and
gained a huge following. The Spy family has a huge Batman family energy as the
titular spy has to create the perfect family as a front. Now that would be fun
but little does he know that his new wife and daughter have secret lives of
their own. His faux life partner is actually an assassin and his recently
adopted daughter is a powerful mind reader. Fan are in for a truly humorous and
heartwarming ride with this one. The Spy
x Family is set to have an April 2022 release.
3/10
CHAINSAW MAN
In the month of June, Chainsaw Man's official trailer
premiered, making it one of the most anticipated anime releases for 2022. Horror
fans will surely enjoy this series, which is filled with revving chainsaws and
hordes of devils. Tatsuki Fujimoto is the author and illustrator of Chainsaw
Man, a horror comedy manga series. Denji, a youngster whose deceased father
left a large debt to pay off, lives in a world of devils who manifest from
human fear. Due to a lack of money, the main protagonist is forced to become a
scrappy devil hunter with the help of his devil-dog companion, Pochita. Having
lost his heart after being killed on the job, Pochita contracts to become
Denji's new heart, ultimately morphing him into the chainsaw-wielding monster
Chainsaw Man. As noted in an official tweet and at Jump Festa 2022, a popular
anime event, the Chainsaw Man anime will be released in 2022.
2/10
ATTACK ON TITAN FINAL PART 2
A decade-long anime and manga franchise comes to a thrilling
conclusion with Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2. Paradis residents and
anti-Marleyan Volunteers will face a bigger conflict in the series. An anime
adaptation of the manga is currently in its fourth and final season being
produced by the studio MAPPA. After Eren's hometown of Shiganshina has been
liberated from the Liberian conflict, Season 4 Part 1 is primarily set in
Shiganshina. As part of the titan euthanization plan, the main character seeks
to reunite with his half-brother Zeke Yeager. The part 2 began premiering 9th
of January this year and is currently ongoing.

BLEACH : THOUSAND YEAR BLOOD WAR
Now this is something to really look forward to. Tite Kubo’s
two decades long action packed shounen masterpiece comes to the conclusion with
this final arc. TYBW will also be adapted by studio Pierrot, which created
Bleach's first 14 seasons. Ichigo Kurosaki, a 15-year-old boy who can see
ghosts, is the protagonist of the story. Ichigo becomes entangled in the
affairs of the Soul Society, an afterlife modeled after feudal Japan, when
shinigami Rukia Kuchiki gives him her powers against the Hollows in her
desperate life-and-death situation. Bleach TYBW anime is set to air in October
2022, as confirmed by the official trailer.
