Jujutsu Kaisen

How to draw Sukuna from Jujutsu Kaisen Step by Step Tutorial

Give us, weebs, a handsome, insanely strong and notorious villain and the popularity of the show never goes down. Such an anime is Jujutsu Kaisen and such a villain is Jujutsu Kaisen’s Sukuna Ryomen. Let’s talk about our favourite new generation mass murderer alongside Eren Jaeger, Sukuna Ryomen.

SUKUNA’S ORIGIN AND PAST :

Many consider Sukuna to be an imaginary demon; however, he was a human Jujutsu sorcerer. He existed over a thousand years ago, but at the time, the people around him did not recognize him as a human. During the Heian era, Sukuna was a natural calamity, with his name conjuring nothing but terror. During the Golden Age of Jujutsu, sorcerers tried numerous times to defeat him, but were ultimately defeated. He acquired the title of King of Curses as a result of this trait, regardless of his profession as a sorcerer. Ultimately, a group of Jujutsu sorcerers came together to defeat Sukuna, and the spirit he had become was sealed inside his 20 fingers in order to become cursed objects after his death. No matter how hard the shamans tried, they were not able to properly dispose of Sukuna's remains since his fingers were preserved in their own grave wax and the cursed objects that he left behind continued to instill fear in the minds of sorcerers.

In describing Ryomen Sukuna's appearance and powers, Akutami-sensei cited Japanese mythology as inspiration. As Sukuna's description in the manga is similar to what is described by Japanese mythology, he had two pairs of arms and legs on each side of his body. As mentioned in chapter 3, Satoru describes Sukuna as having four arms and two faces, as well as a cover for chapter 117 that was a representation of Sukuna's real form within the JJK universe. In the anime Sukuna looks so similar with Yuji Itadori because he uses Yuji’s body as his vessel.

At Sugisawa High School in 2018, one of his fingers was found in an outdoor thermometer box. The school's Occult Club had inexplicably removed the seal covering the finger and placed the finger back in the thermometer box. The finger's tainted powers began attracting Cursed Spirits who attacked club members as soon as the energy was released from its sealed power. In order to protect a club member, Yuji Itadori consumes the finger which turns him into Sukuna’s vessel.

SUKUNA’S POWERS AND ABILITIES :

In the entire series, Sukuna has been called King of the Curses, because of his power and skill levels. In the present, even with his power limited due to his incarnation not having eaten all his fingers, Sukuna still remains a formidably lethal threat and Kenjaku's group saw his complete awakening as being capable of ensuring the success of their plans. He proved capable of effortlessly defeating Special-Grade Curses: With just two fingers, he completely outmatched and defeated a Finger Bearer. With more fingers, he seriously injured Mahito when angered and left the latter terrified at his might. With 15 fingers, Sukuna easily defeated Jogo without much struggle and even managed to ultimately Mahoraga, something no user of the Ten Shadows Technique and even a member of the Gojo Family with the Six Eyes had done. Even Satoru Gojo acknowledged Sukuna's strength and considered a fight between them as being difficult even for him, while Yuji believed with Satoru sealed away, only Yuta Okkotsu, a Special-Grade Sorcerer of comparable strength to Satoru, could challenge and defeat him if he goes on a rampage. Sukuna possesses overwhelmingly massive levels of Cursed Energy that makes him capable of making continuous usage of his cursed techniques without any strain and far exceeds any other Special-Grade Cursed Spirits. His presence upon awakening could be felt through the entire Shibuya. Simply exerting his Cursed Energy alone could easily overcome Mahito's efforts to use Idle Transfiguration on Yuji and even destroy his Domain Expansion. Sukuna's Cursed Energy was considered to be close to Satoru Gojo's own, who was regarded as the strongest Jujutsu Sorcerer with superhuman levels of Cursed Energy, in terms of immensity while being overwhelmingly more evil and sinister.

Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine:- Sukuna's Domain Expansion is extremely potent and unique, taking the form of a Buddhist shrine that has been disfigured to enshrine a demon such as Sukuna himself. The shrine has horns on the roof, skulls hanging at each of the corners of the roof, mouths coming out of each side of it, and is surrounded with bull-shaped skulls, in that it doesn't create a separate space with a barrier, making it a truly divine technique, as the ability to realize one's innate domain without using a barrier is akin to an artist drawing a masterpiece on the air instead of on a canvas. He allows an escape route from his domain to form a Binding Vow that vastly increases the guaranteed hit's effective area with a maximum radius of nearly 200 meters and he can narrow down the radius if desired, allowing him to utilize Cleave and Dismantle to relentlessly attack anything in its radius. Sukuna can set it to automatically target any inanimate objects with dismantle, and cleave anything with cursed energy to cut them down.

Sukuna’s Innate Technique is yet unknown but he was shown to use this technique to slash his opponents. In fact, he has fire abilities too. One of the default Sukuna’s slashing attacks includes Dismantle. It’s mostly used for inanimate objects. But, it can also be used against cursed spirits. Cleave includes slashing of his opponents instantly depending upon their physical toughness. It takes huge cursed energy to perform this technique and is known to be very effective too. Fire Manipulation is also one of Sukuna’s Techniques. He can manipulate fire however he likes. These were exceeded on Jogo who’s a special-grade curse.

Being extremely skillful with immense strength in him, Sukuna is a powerful close-quarter fighter. He’s physically fit which leads him to fight very well in hand-to-hand combat. It is very difficult to fight with Sukuna hand-to-hand. Despite having Immense Strength, he’s considered to have immense speed as well! He moves at an incredible speed which confuses his opponents. He was constantly able to defeat Jogo by confusing him. He moves very rapidly it can easily induce dizziness in his opponents. Sukuna even confronted Panda and Atsuya Kusakabe who are quite strong sorcerers.

HOW MANY FINGERS DOES SUKUNA HAVE :

Sukuna has 20 fingers since he was sealed in his old form when he had 4 arms.

SUKUNA X MEGUMI THEORY :

When Sukuna inherited Itadori’s body, he already started planning for his resurrection. Megumi’s 10 shadows technique allows him to create a shikigami. Sukuna is highly interested in this technique. Given that Sukuna is very selfish and he is really interested in Megumi, the only conclusion we can draw is that Sukuna wants to somehow use Megumi for his resurrection.
