How to Draw Minato Namikaze from Naruto Step by Step Tutorial

This character doesn’t necessarily need an introduction. We can all agree that when it comes to Naruto men, we’re already in love with Minato Namikaze AKA Lord Fourth AKA The Fourth Hokage who’s none other than our golden boy Naruto’s daddy. Despite being one of those characters who get very short screen time and even shorter life time, Minato sure has earned himself some love and respect from fans around the world. Let’s talk about Minato Namikaze in this article.

MINATO’S LIFE AND HISTORY :

Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage, is Naruto Uzumaki's father and Kushina's husband. Although Naruto and Minato are noted to have a number of similar physical traits throughout the series, their familial relationship is not revealed until Part II of the series. He was the student of Jiraiya and the teacher of Kakashi Hatake, Obito Uchiha, and Rin Nohara who are famously known as ‘Team Minato’ or the former team 7. The entire village respects Minato as a hero of the village, having perfected Tobirama's Flying Thunder God Jutsu, a method of teleportation with pre-made seals, to earn the title of "Konoha's Yellow Flash". Before the start of the series, after battling the mysterious masked ninja who released the Nine-Tails Kurama, Minato siphons Kurama's Yin chakra to weaken the beast to be sealed into Naruto's body in a sacrificial act so that only his son can access the Nine-Tails' yang chakra. Years later during the Fourth Great Ninja War, Orochimaru releases Minato's soul and reanimates him. Minato and the other Hokage decide to fight alongside Sasuke on the battlefield and defeat Madara Uchiha. Minato reveals his own Nine-Tails Chakra Mode which he later tries to pass to his son. During a battle against Madara, he soon realized that Obito is in fact alive all along and that he was the masked man that was behind Kurama's attack on the Hidden Leaf Village during Naruto's birth. Once the battle is over, Minato is released from the Reanimation Jutsu by Hagoromo and promises Naruto that he will tell Kushina of their son's progress.

MINATO’S POWERS AND ABILITIES :

Many Shinobi have risen above all others to become the Hokage over the years, and one shinobi has been widely hailed as "The Hero" of Konohagakure; Minato Namikaze. He was widely considered a genius at combat during his tenure as the 4th Hokage of Konohagakure. Since he was already dead in the main Naruto timeline, fans didn't get much to see of him during the Naruto story. Although his powers were glimpsed through some flashbacks, Orochimaru helped him make a return for the Fourth Great Ninja War, where he showed off his impressive array of skills without any limitations.

Even when he was barely a ninja, Minato was considered an extraordinary shinobi of the Namikaze clan. As a member of the academy, Minato obtained the highest scores in history, a feat later replicated by Itachi Uchiha. Minato had become a Jonin already by this time in the war, earning himself the moniker "Yellow Flash of the Leaf" for his skill during combat. In the same conflict, Minato fought the likes of Ay and the Jinchuriki of the Eight-Tails, Killer Bee, at once, proving to be superior to both. In the following days, Minato took down a thousand shinobi on his own, which forced Iwagakure to issue a "flee on sight" order and eventually, sign a peace treaty to end the war. Minato, in essence, ended a massive war by himself and proved he was a true master ninja.

Although he had only three nature transformations, Hokage Minato was exceptionally skilled at many arts, including combat at high speed, teleportation ninjutsu, barrier ninjutsu, taijutsu, sealing jutsu, and other outer space ninjutsu. All of his skills were incredible, and if he had lived longer, they would have only improved. At a very young age, he became the village's Fourth Hokage with the potential to reach great heights. According to Hiruzen Sarutobi and even Jiraiya, Minato was unparalleled as a shinobi during that era. Evidently, he lived up to the standards when he handled both Obito Uchiha and the Nine-Tails all at the same time, which is nothing short of incredible.

Both Naruto and Minato's use of the Kurama Chakra Mode made him even stronger than he already was, and furthermore, Minato proved that he was far more skilled than even Tobirama Senju and Hiruzen Sarutobi at this point, with perhaps only Hashirama Senju able to hold a candle to him, let alone win the fight. However, even so, Minato once again showed that he was the most skilled Hokage, saving multiple shinobi from the Ten-Tails, he also teleported them to safety.

Moreover, Minato even accessed Perfect Sage Mode even though he never used it a lot while alive, demonstrating his ability to tap into genius in spite of his lack of use of it. And Against Madara Uchiha, despite losing both arms, he helped teleport his Truth-Seeking Balls away by outpacing even Might Guy in his Eight Gates form. 

HERE IS A TUTORIAL OF HOW TO DRAW MINATO NAMIKAZE :

STEP – 1 : Drawing baselines

The first step requires you to simply draw a circle.

STEP – 4 : Drawing Minato’s hair

In this step, you will have to draw Minato’s hair which are fairly long, straight and spikey and frames his face perfectly.

STEP – 5 : Drawing Minato’s upper body parts

In this step you will draw the upper part of Minato’s body which includes his neck, shoulders and clothes.

STEP – 6 : Drawing Baselines for Minato’s hand

Now that you have drawn the upper part of the body, in this one, you will have to draw the guidelines that will help you to draw Minato’s right hand. 

STEP – 7 : Drawing Minato’s hand

You are now ready to draw Minato’s palm which is balled in a fist around his chest area.

STEP – 8 : Drawing Minato’s clothes

This is a rather complicated step where you have to draw the rest of Minato’s clothes on his body. Follow the picture. 

STEP – 9 : Drawing Minato’s eyes (facial features)

Let’s get back to the face from this step forward. Draw Minato’s eyes which are closed in this one. You can always choose to alter that to your preference. Also draw the eyebrows and nose.

STEP – 10 : Drawing Minato’s mouth

All you have to do is to draw the lip which is in a simple smiling position.

STEP – 11 : Darkening to outlines

In this step, you’re going to have to define the outlines further.

STEP – 12 : Finalising Minato fanart

In this step you can erase all the excessive guidelines and rough lines, leaving out only the final outlines.

STEP – 13 : Colouring the drawing

In this step all you have to do is to colour and shade your final drawing as shown in the picture.
