How to Draw Tsunade Naruto Shippuden Step by Step

Tsunade Senju – the most popular female character of Naruto verse, as well as the most complex one, or at least as close to complex as Kishimito Sensei’s female characters can get. Although most of the time our beloved Fifth Hokage is famous for her physical appearance, when we delve deep into the character, we see there are layers of complicated psychology and not to mention the power and strength she beholds. Let’s talk about Tsunade Senju, our Lady Tsunade, in this article.

LADY TSUNADE’S HISTORY AND LIFE :

Tsunade is the granddaughter of the God of Shinobi who was also the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju and Miko Uzumaki. Which also makes her the grandniece of The Second Hokage Tobirama Senju himself. Coming from a royal family, Tsunade has always been the most doted on child by her grand relatives. However, life hasn’t been kind to her as she grew up. It is no surprise that Naruto characters are all products of trauma and tragedy and Tsunade is not an exception. Tsunade lost both her brother and her lover to the Second Great Shinobi War. She held both of them very close to her heart. The trauma of not being able to protect people she loved so dearly, despite having monstrous power, eats her alive. This is basically the reason why she initiated medical ninjutsu – to increase the survival rate of the soldiers who are positioned in the frontlines. Both of Tsunade’s brother and lover nestled this dream of being the Hokage and that led her to believe “being a Hokage is fool’s job” since both of them died very prematurely, pushing her to a point of cynicism, from which Naruto Uzumaki later drags her out. Later in Shippuden, we also witness Jiraiya’s death which pushes her into darkness yet again. It’s almost as if an irony how despite being the greatest healer of all time, Tsunade is never able to heal her heart and soul from the eternal despair inflicted upon her.

LADY TSUNADE’S POWERS AND ABILITIES :

In addition to being a talented shinobi like other Third Hokage’s students, Tsunade is also extremely intelligent, claiming the title of the Greatest Kunoichi after the Second Great Shinobi War. Because she was descended from both the Senju and Uzumaki Clans, Tsunade possessed a strong life force and physical energy that allowed her to handle in-depth battle with Madara Uchiha for over half a day without exhaustion, and even survive being cut in half and retain consciousness all while healing an entire army. The chakra accumulated by Tsunade is equivalent to a hundred-fold increase in her usual chakra levels. In addition to using this extra chakra to heal injuries or perform other jutsu techniques, she can also use it to replenish or amplify other people's chakras as well. Tsunade is considered one of the world's greatest medical ninjas, adept at identifying ailments at a glance and treating conditions that other medical-ninjas deem impossible to treat. Orochimaru is confident she can reverse the necrosis-like effects of the Dead Demon Consuming Seal due to her skills. When Rock Lee was deemed a helpless case, she fixed the damage to his spine and healed the psychological damage that Tsukuyomi caused, among other things. She looks as if she is still in her twenties despite being in her fifties thanks to Tsunade's Transformation Technique. A segment of Shikkotsu Forest slug Katsuyu can be summoned by Tsunade. Katsuyu can use her divisions not only to fight alongside Tsunade, but also to communicate long distances or to move and shield Tsunade's wounded allies.

HOW OLD IS LADY TSUNADE :

In spite of her advanced age, Tsunade remains youthful with a seal on her forehead which signifies her healing jutsu and incredible chakra reserve. We know she is in her 50s and Boruto, she’s in her 70s.

HERE IS A TUTORIAL OF HOW TO DRAW TSUNADE :

STEP 1

For the very first step, you have to draw the guidelines as the base of Tsunade’s face, which include a circle, a vertical line right across the middle of the circle, four horizontal lines parallel to each other and the underside of the facial structure containing the jaw and the chin.

STEP 2

In this step you have to draw the outline of Tsunade’s straight long blonde hair which is parted in the middle, secured in two low ponytails and shorter locks at the front framing the face.

STEP 3

This step requires you to draw all the facial features such as Tsunade’s eyes, eyebrows, nose, lips and her signature forehead mark.

STEP 4

As for this step, you have to draw the upper part of Tsunade’s body which includes her neck, shoulders and clothes.

STEP 5

All you have to do in this step is to erase the guidelines, leaving out only the outlines of your drawing.

STEP 6

The last thing left to do in this step, is to apply colours and shades to your drawing, as shown in the picture.
